Rob is the former chief operating officer of both SpringSource and JBoss, two of the most commercially successful open source companies in history. Rob also served in senior roles at Oracle, where he directed a $1 billion sales organization, I2 and Manhattan Associates. He currently sits on the boards of Black Duck and EnterpriseDB, two successful and well-regarded vendors in the open source industry. Rob has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Jacksonville State University and currently holds the title of Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.
Ingrid Burton brings over 25 years of marketing experience and innovation to her role as Chief Marketing Officer. Most recently, Ingrid was SVP of Innovation and Technology Marketing at SAP where she headed up a vast portfolio of data and analytics products and technologies, SAP HANA platform and developer marketing. Prior to that, she was chief marketing officer at both Silver Spring Networks and Plantronics, and had over 15 years of senior marketing roles at Sun Microsystems which included driving Java and developer marketing. Early in her career she held software development roles at GTE, Megatek and United Technologies. Ingrid has a bachelor’s degree in Math with a concentration in Computer Science from San Jose State University.
As VP of Corporate Strategy, Shaun is focused on enabling Apache Hadoop to power the enterprise’s next-generation data architecture. Shaun has more than 25 years of experience in the software industry with experience that spans big data, cloud computing, application middleware, and enterprise open source software platforms. Shaun has a track record of building early stage and midsize software companies into successful market leaders and has held VP and Director level positions at VMware, SpringSource, Red Hat, JBoss, Princeton Softech, HP, Bluestone Software, and Primavera Systems. Herb Cunitz brings 25 years of experience building sales, consulting, training, marketing and operations teams for emerging enterprise software companies. Herb is responsible for global sales, marketing and support activities at Hortonworks. Herb was most recently responsible for global field operations for the vFabric Cloud Application Platform division of VMware and was responsible for global sales of the application run-time and data products/services part of the Cloud Application Platform. Prior to that Herb ran worldwide field operations for SpringSource – an open source software company acquired by VMware in 2009. Herb also spent 10 years at IBM in NY in various positions, including Sales/Marketing Manager for NY and US Marketing Executive for Desktop Operating Systems. Herb has an MBA in Finance from New York University Stern School of Business and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in New York.
Scott brings 20 years of senior financial leadership to Hortonworks. Most recently he served as the CFO of Quest Software, a publicly traded systems management software company acquired by Dell. Previously, he held strategic financial roles within Citrix Systems and Precision Response Corporation including FP&A, Treasury, Investor Relations and Corporate Development. Before his software focused career, he was a National Bank Examiner with the United States Department of Treasury- Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Scott holds an MBA from the University of Miami and currently serves as Board member and Audit Chair for Bomgar, an enterprise remote support solutions company.
Bringing over 20 years of software industry leadership, Jamie is responsible for managing the roadmap, go-to-market and channel strategy of Hortonworks’ emerging solutions including Hortonworks DataFlow powered by Apache NiFi, Streaming (Kafka, Storm, Spark streaming), Cyber Security and the overall technology and strategy to advance and take forward the Internet of Anything market. Most recently, Jamie had global responsibility for Hortonworks Solutions Engineering organization which is focused on guiding organizations to identify their Hadoop opportunity from Business Case, to Proof of Concept, to successful Project Delivery. Prior to Hortonworks, Jamie led Global Solutions Engineering teams at SpringSource and VMware. Jamie has extensive experience spanning Open Source, Java, Platform as a Service (PaaS), Application Infrastructure and Big Data. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Montana State University.
Mitch is responsible for driving strategic initiatives at Hortonworks, and was previously the VP of business development at the company. Mitch has helped to establish and execute global business development and channel strategies with enterprise software companies from early-stage through IPO, including SpringSource, Arbor Software and Vitria Technology. Mitch started Business Development at SpringSource, which contributed to it being acquired by VMware. At VMware, Mitch led strategic partnership efforts for VMware’s vFabric cloud platform with companies like salesforce.com. Scott has spent his entire career in the data industry, most recently as president of Teradata Labs where he provided visionary direction for research, development and sales support activities related to Teradata integrated data warehousing, big data analytics, and associated solutions. He also drove the investments and acquisitions in Teradata’s technology related to the solutions from Teradata Labs. Scott holds a BSEE from Drexel University.
Tim Hall is the Vice President of Product Management. Prior to joining Hortonworks, he was vice president of product management at Oracle where he was responsible for leading Oracle’s outbound product management team covering the Business Process Management Suite, SOA Suite offerings including Oracle Event Processing, and the Data Integration Suite. Previously, Tim held management level positions at HP, Talking Blocks, and Xpedior. As the General Counsel, David is responsible for the company’s worldwide legal affairs and compliance. He also serves as Corporate Secretary. David joined Hortonworks in 2013 as its first in-house attorney and brings over 15 years of legal experience in the software industry. Previously, David was Director and Senior Counsel at VMware, where he contributed to VMware’s successful IPO and helped build and scale the legal department during the period that the company grew from $380 million to over $3.7 billion in annual revenue. David has also played key legal roles at GoodData and Serena Software. David holds a Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
Mark has over 25 years of experience in the software industry with responsibilities that include consulting, presales, sales, operations, and product management. As the head of Industry Solutions, he is responsible for expanding the Hortonworks Data Platform into specific areas of value for key strategic industries. Mark’s organization is responsible for engaging the Hortonworks customer base and facilitating value based adoption of high return use cases, completing open source development items as needed within the Apache Hadoop roadmap, and supporting the long term success and community of customers within each industry. Prior to Hortonworks, he held senior leadership roles at SAP, Oracle, and i2 Technologies. Mark earned a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Management and a Masters Degree in Information Systems and Operations Management from Auburn University.
Greg has more than 15 years of experience in the distributed systems, middleware, and real-time analytics markets and brings proven software engineering management expertise to lead Hortonworks’ product development organization. Prior to joining Hortonworks, Greg spent nearly 10 years at Oracle, most recently as vice president of product development for Oracle’s market leading SOA and integration portfolio where he was responsible for building and managing the development organizations responsible for Oracle’s SOA Suite, governance offerings and Application Integration Architecture (AIA) products. Greg also served on Oracle’s External Research Board, Oracle’s Architecture Review Board, and led technical direction for the company’s Web services strategy and fusion middleware transaction processing infrastructure. Previously, Greg was the principal architect for the Java middleware division at Hewlett Packard and worked on Java Application Server middleware at Bluestone Software. Most recently, Chris led the Global Channels & Alliances group for VCE, the Virtual Computing Environment Company, supporting the growth and development of the company from early stage to a multi-billion dollar business in 6 years. Prior to VCE, Chris held various roles at Cisco across Enterprise, Commercial and Service Provider lines of business.
