Bob Page has joined the company as vice president of products. Previously at eBay, Inc., Page brings over 17 years of enterprise data and analytics experience to Hortonworks and will lead the strategic development of the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP), the industry’s only community-driven, 100-percent open source platform powered by Apache Hadoop. Page will be responsible for delivering enterprise-grade, stable versions of HDP that help accelerate Hadoop adoptions and extend the big data platform to the entire IT ecosystem.
The 100-percent open source Hortonworks Data Platform is the industry’s first and only Apache Hadoop distribution for both Windows and Linux, enabling organizations to run Hadoop-based solutions natively on Windows. The beta release is available now for download from Hortonworks.
