Access violation error

  • #41774

We use Hortonworks Sandbox 1.3 with Hive Server 2 service.
If we use the file from an attachment for data sampling, then Excel shuts down with the following error:

Access violation at address 00000001802EACEB in module “C:\Program Files\Hortonworks Hive ODBC Driver\lib\HortonworksHiveODBC64.dll”.
    Write of address 0000000070710098
    Error class: EaccessViolation

    Occurs only in Win8 and Win2012 x64.
    Does not occur in Win32.

    What is the reason ?

    Thanks, Andrey.

    Hi Andrey,
The documentation states the system requirements as:

     Windows® XP with SP3, Windows® Vista, Windows® 7 Professional or
    Windows® 2008 R2. Both 32-bit and 64-bit editions are supported.
 25 MB of available disk space.

Since Win8 and Win 2012 is not listed it’s not supported.

    Regards,
    Robert
