Hortonworks Sandbox Forum

Accessing Sandbox URL from different system

Is it possible to access Sandbox URL http://xx.xx.xx.xx from any other system in the same wi-fi network? On the same host (VMWare), I am able to open the URL and it just works fine. But I want to access the URL from another system in the same network. Any idea how to make it work?

    Hi Swathi,

You would need to set up the machine to be an IP on your network (you can either use DHCP or Static).
Please note this will require knowledge of setting up a static or dynamic IP in Linux. (/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0)
If you set up the network on the Virtual Machine (in VMWare) as bridged, then you can allocate an IP and gateway in the file above.

You may be better off following our installation guide and setting up your own cluster using Ambari.

    Thanks

    Dave
