I have installed ganglia on my system
When I try to run ganglia service from the indicator turns green for 2 seconds and again it gets RED.
I started running following command from terminal
    [root@hadoop hdp]# service hdp-gmetad start
    Starting hdp-gmetad…
rrdcached: can’t create pid file ‘/var/run/ganglia/hdp/’ (File exists)
rrdcached: removed stale PID file (no rrdcached on pid 5137)
    rrdcached: starting normally.
    Started /usr/bin/rrdcached with PID 15156
    Failed to start /usr/sbin/gmetad

I get failed to start /usr/sbin/gmetad error.

    My /etc/ganglia/hdp/gmetad.conf file is

    data_source “HDPSlaves” hadoop:8660
    data_source “HDPNameNode” hadoop:8661
    data_source “HDPHBaseMaster” hadoop:8663
    data_source “HDPResourceManager” hadoop:8664
    data_source “HDPHistoryServer” hadoop:8666

I am not getting where I am going wrong
Can you please help me out in this.

    P.S. hdp-gmond service running properly

    Hi Shweta,

Could you please share the log for rrdcached in /var/log/message?
