    Remove this line from /etc/hosts:
    ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
    it is not needed. Or, it you want to use iIPv6, put this line to be second in the file:

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
    192.168.117.128 node1.domain.com node1

    Than do:
    ambari-agent stop
    ambari-server stop
    yum erase ambari-agent
    ambari-server reset
    ambari-server start

    Then continue with installation.

    Thank you!

    ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6

    Host should have some name and have assigned IP address in the hosts file.

    localhost.localdomain should not be used.

    /etc/hosts file should have the following content (example):

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    192.168.117.128 node1.domain.com node1

    Hope this helps.
    Thank you!

    Hi Shuja,

    We need a bit more information in order to help you:
    – What version of HDP are you trying to install?
    – What installation method are you using?
    – What OS are you installing on?
    – What is the content of the /etc/hosts file on the computer you are installing on?
    – What is the IP address of the computer you are installing on?

    Thanks,
    Ted.
