    Hi Stephen,
Are you using java apis for hdfs? At the moment, append in HDP 1.x for windows is a limitation. This feature is expected for HDP 2.0 for windows.

    Regards,
    Robert

    Thanks,

I am working with libhdfs , and I have ported it to compile and run on windows , and I was trying to use the test programs to verify that I did not break anything.

Thus I was getting the above error when the “append” test was performed.

I am testing with the 1.1.3 Windows package.

By googling I discovered how to re-enable the broken “append” support and therefore I was able to successfully complete the test suite.
