I am trying a sanity check for HiveServer2 and stumbled upon this warning when I executed the HiveServer2 client – beeline.

    [hive@ip-172-xx-xx1-xxx bin]$ ./beeline
-hiveconf (No such file or directory)
hive.aux.jars.path=file:/usr/lib/hcatalog/share/hcatalog/hcatalog-core.jar (No such file or directory)
    Beeline version by Apache Hive

    can this warning be ignored?

    Thank you Thejas.

Yes, that warning can be ignored. It is something that needs fixing in the beeline shell script, it adds HIVE_OPTS as argument, which beeline java code does not understand.
There is an apache jira open for it.
