Calling from .NET
I want to access HBase on my Hortonworks Sandbox from Windows within a .NET application. I was able to connect from .NET to HiveServer2 on Port 10000 with the help of the Hortonworks ODBC driver.
I now try the same without the ODBC driver. I use a dll (https://bitbucket.org/vadim/hbase-sharp) that wraps a thrift library to call the HBase Commands such as put and get.
I get stuck, when I use HiveServer2 on port 10000. But that is logical, as I want to access HBase directly without hive. How can I do that?
tells me that HBase Thrift server is not installed per default. So how can I install it?
