Installed Hive ODBC driver and a HDP DSN has been set up as below, when connecting to hiveserver via excel, always got error “SQLSTATE: HY000[Hortonworks][Hardy] (22) Error from ThriftHiveClient: No more data to read.”

But I can successfully connect to hiverserver2 with user name and password. My question is how can I connect to old hiveserver? Checked the hiveserver services is running and port 9083 and 10000 are listening.

    Host: hdpmaster
Hive Server Type: Hive Server 1
    Authentication: No Authentication

    Test Result:
    Driver Version: V1.2.0.1005

    Running connectivity tests…

    Attempting connection
    Failed to establish connection
SQLSTATE: HY000[Hortonworks][Hardy] (22) Error from ThriftHiveClient: No more data to read.

    Hi Lisa,

Can you please check to make sure that you have correct hive server started in the cluster? Hive server 1 and 2 can be running at the same time, so you just need to make sure that you configuring correct port and configure correct version in ODBC driver.

    Hope this helps.
