    When i try to import the OVA file in linux, the VMWare exists with the following message:

    unhandled exception (type std::exception) in signal handler:
    what: std::bad_alloc

    I had to import the OVA file manually to a VMX file:

    ovftool --lax Hortonworks_Technical_Preview_2.1_vw.ova Hortonworks_Technical_Preview_2.1_vw.vmx

    And then all worked normally.

    Something else, during the conversion i’ve seen a warning that appears to be the problem:

    - No manifest entry found for: 'Hortonworks_Sandbox_2.1.ovf'.
    - File is missing from the manifest: 'Hortonworks_Sandbox_2.1.ovf'.
