HDP on Linux – Installation Forum

Create home directories for services in other than "/home".

    Hi… Trying to install Hortonwork 2.2 with Ambari. Works fine until it tries to deploy the services. It fails creating the home directory for the services (hdfs, yarn, hbase, etc.). Unfortunately, my company uses network services to mount user home directories, so creating any directory in “/home” is not going to work.

    Can I direct Ambari to use another home location (/localhome)?? Thanks

    of course…. change the default home directory to something other than ‘/home’ in /etc/default/useradd
