Does hive over hbase support wildcard query?
I have tried “select * from foo where a like ‘%sth%'”. It failed with the following:
Job Submission failed with exception ‘java.lang.RuntimeException(Unexpected residual predicate (data like ‘1’))’

You can try to use RLike function for this.

That means you may write query such a way that it can support RLike function.
    i.e Col_Name rlike ‘.*whatever.*’..
