Failed to Open a Session for Virtual Machine Hortonworks Sandbox 1.2

    When I try to start the sandbox it thrown me following error

    Failed to Open a Session for Virtual Machine Hortonworks Sandbox 1.2
    VT-x features locked or unavailable in MSR
    (VERR_VMX_MSR_LOCKED_OR_DISABLED)

    Hi Sachin,

    Ok, then check in the bios settings on your computer, virtualization support is probably turned off.

    Its ..

    i5-2540 CPU @ 260 GHz
    2.59 GHz,3.41 GB of RAM
    and its on Win XP

    Hi, The check boxes are already checked … but still cannot start the sandbox

    Hi Sachin,

    To get past this error you need to select (not start) the Sandbox vm in the list, then go to Machine -> Settings -> System -> Acceleration and check both checkboxes there.
