    hi,

after trying to deploy, i get this error in the log:
[2013:09:05 22:40:43][INFO][PuppetInvoker][PuppetInvoker.php:100][sendKick]: bdvm2.us.myhost.com: Kick failed with warning: peer certificate won’t be verified in this SSL session
Host bdvm2.us.impetus.com failed: Error 403 on SERVER: Forbidden request: localhost(127.0.0.1) access to /run/bdvm2.us.myhost.com [save] at line 1
    Triggering bdvm2.us.myhost.com
bdvm2.us.myhost.com finished with exit code 2
    Failed: bdvm2.us.myhost.com

    Any idea ?
    in my puppetmaster.conf i have:
    SSLCertificateFile /var/lib/puppet/ssl/certs/bdvm2.us.myhost.com.pem

    in my /etc/hosts i have:
    192.168.1.106 bdvm1 bdvm1.us.myhost.com
    192.168.1.211 bdvm2 bdvm2.us.myhost.com
    ::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6
    [root@bdvm2 ~]#

    hostname -f gives:
    bdvm2 .

I m really not sure what the next step is; please help ?
    thanks,
    Matt

    ok, did this –
However, seems like i may have a problem with hostname; see below, hostname -f seems to give the wrong info.
Not sure how to overcome this (Linux hell..) ? This is on Centos 6 – this may be the problem..
    thanks

    [root@bdvm2 ~]# hostname -f
    localhost
    [root@bdvm2 ~]# hostname
    bdvm2.us.myhost.com
    [root@bdvm2 ~]#

    Hi Matt,

Does your hostname really have a . at the end of it?

Check /etc/sysconfig/network and ensure the hostname is bdvm2.us.myhost.com (this must resolve when you use hostname -f )

I think that is why you are getting the issue

    Thanks

    Thanks

    Dave,

    that’s good thinking –
but unfortunately , same error / problem.
Yes, i am able to ssh to localhost and to bdvm2 in a passwordless way .

    thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,

Can you add this line into your etc/hosts

    192.168.1.211 localhost local

Also can you ssh passwordless to itself? Sometimes I find installing the ambari-agent locally is easier to overcome these issues with ssh in a small test cluster.

Let me know how you get on,

    Dave
