    Why is that all the packages I download from hortonworks repository site(I mean this site )
    are missing some files!
    I’m sure that I have downloaded them correctly,but the problem is that:
    when I extract them,Instead of having both subdirectories “GA” and “Updates”,they either have “GA” or “Updates”.
    In worst case,I get the “404 Not found” error :((
    This happens for all packages needed! I mean,”ambari”,”hdp” and “hdp utils”. :’(
    since I am an intern In a company,I am in a hurry to install the HDP on centos6.please! give me some valid links of packages above,that have both “GA” and “Updates” directories.
    or tell me what should I do?
    (I have asked such question before,but no one answered.)

    tnx
    Hesam

    Hi Hesam,

    I have checked the tar file and the updates will be ok to install against. They contain build 111 which is GA.
    I can run through an install of these if you wish and let you know how I get on?

    Thanks

    Hi Dave,

    the porblem I mentioned is with packages,not the “.repo” file.
    I mean the .tar files!
    for example,the file “HDP-1.3.2.0-centos6-rpm.tar.gz” which is located in the link below:
    (http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/HDP/centos6/HDP-1.3.2.0-centos6-rpm.tar.gz)
    seems to be incomplete.
    I want to set a local repository.and use the tarball above.when I untar it,in the untared folder:
    “HDP/centos6/1.x/” there is only “updates” subdirectory.
    and there isn’t any folder named: “GA” :(

    but when I check the hdp.repo file,there should be some path named GA inside the 1.x folder.
    and since there isn’t such folder in that path,I cant assign that path to “baseurl” of [HDP-1.x].

    (the .repo file below is the main hdp.repo file,and I just wanted to show you what I mean.this is not what I use for local repository)

    [HDP-1.x]
    name=Hortonworks Data Platform Version – HDP-1.x
    baseurl=http://$yourwebserver/HDP/$os/1.x/GA
    gpgcheck=0
    gpgkey=http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/HDP/$os/RPM-GPG-KEY/RPMGPG-
    KEY-Jenkins
    enabled=1
    priority=1
    [HDP-UTILS-1.1.0.16]
    name=Hortonworks Data Platform Utils Version – HDP-UTILS-1.1.0.16
    baseurl=http://$yourwebserver/HDP-UTILS-1.1.0.16/repos/$os
    gpgcheck=0
    gpgkey=http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/HDP/$os/RPM-GPG-KEY/RPMGPG-
    KEY-Jenkins
    enabled=1
    priority=1
    [Updates-HDP-1.x]
    name=HDP-1.x – Updates
    baseurl=http://$yourwebserver/HDP/$os/1.x/updates
    gpgcheck=0
    gpgkey=http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/HDP/$os/RPM-GPG-KEY/RPMGPG-
    KEY-Jenkins
    enabled=1
    priority=1

    thanks

    Hi Hesam,

    You should be able to use:

    wget http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/ambari/centos6/1.x/GA/ambari.repo

    Then cp this into /etc/yum.repos.d/

    You should then be able to proceed with the install.
    Here is a link to the install documentation:

    http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP1/HDP-1.3.2/bk_using_Ambari_book/content/ambari-chap1.html

    Thanks

    Dave
