Flume command not found

  • #45034

I was trying HDP Tutorial ” Refining and Visualizing Server Log Data ” and not able to go past below command.

    flume-ng agent -c /etc/flume/conf -f /etc/flume/conf/flume.conf -n sandbox

I have replaced flume.conf file as described but when I run above command on PUTTY client I get following error.
    Flume command not found.

    Please help me on this.

    Hi Rajesh,

Can you run “yum install flume” and then retry this command?

    Hi Dave,

I had installed Flume before running the command line but then I was trying with space between Flume and -ng.

Finally I tried without any space between Flume and ng meaning formed command like “flume-ng” and worked.

    Thanks for your help .
