Guest additions for virtualbox

  • #17551

i am using HDP sanbox VM with virtualbox.
are there any guest additions available the same?
the purpose is to be able to use shared folders between host(win7 64 bit) and guest os(HDP VM)

in general, you should use SCP to transfer files betwenn host and VM.
However, you can configure shared folders, take a look at the VirtualBox documentation how to do this.
For the VM settings, there is a tab called “Shared Folders”.

    Thank you!

    Hi Sasha,
For using shared folders, guest additions are mandatory.
does HDP have such guest additions?

    Seth Lyubich

    Hi Pranjal,

Guest additions are provided by Oracle VirtualBox. We don’t ship this in Sandbox.

    Hope this helps.
