Hadoop Backup (TBA)

  • #10578

I’m facing one problem regarding hadoop backup. My master node has uploaded up to 52GB of data to site as hadoop backup which choked all my network traffic. This is host management site.
Is there any tie up with by hortonworks for cluster management?
    why this is happening?
is there any solution to stop such backup upload?

Could you be a little more specific?
What is your configuration and what are you trying to accomplish.
What is the reason to push 52 Gb of data over the thin network pipe?

We are running 3 node cluster with all services available.
We are trying to run pig and hive on small amount of data.
First we got mail from nagios that your namenode is down then without any confirmation it ran on background
and tried to upload data. When we communicated with our network team they said it is master_hadoop backup data tried to upload to server.
We have no idea how this happened, because at that time we were not not running any job..
Is there any tie up with by hortonworks for cluster management?

Hortonworks have nothing in common with
Hadoop never performs any backups automatically, so you better to speak with your systems administrators about what and why happened.
