HDP on Linux – Installation Forum

Hadoop Configuration

  • #29484

    Hi Ted,
would you help me to configure Hadoop properly with an example because every time after installing and configuring according to the tutorial provided in hortonworks when I am trying to validate the installation from the browser by typing http://$jobtracker.full.myhostname:50030/, I am receiving the message “Server not found”. I have tried a lot but could not solve it.

    Hi Marshall,

Are you sure that the variable $jobtracker.full.myhostname has been set? If that is just there to anonymize your host name, then check to make sure that you can ping the host by name from the command line. If you can’t then the host need to be added to your /etc/hosts file or setup up in DNS.
