HDP on Windows – Installation Forum

Hadoop for Windows Install

  • #53730
    Thomas George

Running into a strange problem installing Hadoop.

Executing the MSI found using the process found on the page in the below link, gives me an install error, telling me that it cannot install. It also says to check the install log for the error located in directory XXXX.

The directory for the install log simply isn’t getting created and consequently nothing is getting written. What am I doing wrong? Using the same version referenced on the page.

    Hardware specs:
    Dual 2.5 GHz processor
    Windows Server 2012 R2
    4.88GB Ram
    64 bit OS

    Hi Thomas!
Please add /l flag to instalaltion command line:
    msiexec /i “hdp-” /l* install.log

Installer will create log file in any case of failure or success. So you will be able to determine the problem

Thanks. Will give it a try tomorrow!
