    Hi Sujeet,

The HDP Sandbox is a standalone ‘sandbox’ for the Hortonworks Data Platform. It is built on HDP 2.0 – which is widely used in Production environments.
If you want to build a cluster from scratch (I wouldn’t advise it currently) then you would need to find servers (not desktops) running Windows 2012 64 bit.

This is why I suggested the Sandbox – it will give you an idea of how to run jobs, you can work through the tutorials etc.

VMWare Player is a Virtualization software which allows you to run Virtual Machines. Our Sandbox is a VM which you can then download and import it into this, which allows you to run it.
    You can find it here:

    Thanks

    Hi Sujeet,

You should download VMWare Player and then download the Sandbox for VMWare.
This will be the quickest way to try out HDP on your personal computer.

    Thanks

    Dave
