    Thanks Kristopher! I was using the wrong artifact “hbase” instead of “hbase-client”.

    Hi James,

    The repo URI you posted looks good.

    Please look in the hbase-client folder here for client JARs:
    http://repo.hortonworks.com/content/repositories/releases/org/apache/hbase/hbase-client/0.96.1.2.0.6.1-101-hadoop2/

    The dependency section would look like this:
    <dependency>
    <groupId>org.apache.hbase</groupId>
    <artifactId>hbase-client</artifactId>
    <version>0.96.1.2.0.6.1-101-hadoop2</version>
