    Is it possible to add more partitions later? or can I start with one?

    Hi Li,

    Technically it is possible to add partitions later as it is just a list of comma separated values specified in the configuration file.

    However it is recommended that you specify all the configurations in the beginning for the node(s) instead of adding one by one as to achieve better data distribution across the disks as HDFS writes data to specified partitions in round robin fashion
