hdp-1.1.0-GA on Windows 2012 Install Fails

  • #28621

    I’m getting an error when installing: Note: 1: 2262 2: Error 3: -2147287038

Other than this error I see one earlier around the Java Home check. I’ve checked the Java Home env variable it’s there and correct:
CAQuietExec: Checking JAVA_HOME is set correctly…
CAQuietExec: Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_31 was unexpected at this time.
CAQuietExec: Error 0x800700ff: Command line returned an error.
    CAQuietExec: Error 0x800700ff: CAQuietExec Failed

    Hi Rowland,

Did you install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable? It’s not integrated Windows 2012.

Yes. All dependencies including the C++ redistro are installed.

    Hi Rowland,

Could you send the complete install log to http://ftp.hortonworks.com username=dropoff password=horton? Please name the file something unique so that I can tell it’s from you. Note – you’ll only be able to upload files, not get any listing of files or download any.
With this in hand I can get a better idea of what went wrong with your installation.

I am getting the same! any ideas on the resolution of this?

    Hi Melissa,

Can you send us the complete install log using the instructions posted earlier in this thread?

Sorry — we’ve moved on with Cloudera. The environment that was built for this POC was eliminated yesterday.

    Hi Rowland,

    Sorry to hear that.
