You need to pass HDP_LAYOUT=’your-response-file’ on the command line.

Installation failed. Please see installation log for details:
    HadeepInstallFiles\HadoopSetupTools\Hdp-1.3.0.0.winpkg.install.log

Can any one help I am a beginner in hadoop and trying to explore in HDP but not able to install the
data platform getting above error. Thanks

    Hi Raja,

It also will be helpful if you can share content of clusterproperties.txt file as well as command that you are trying to run. Also, note that Win 7 is not supported on HDP.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Seth

    Hello Dave,
    Thanks for responding.

I am using windows server 2012 64 bit. I tried in my local machine also which is windows 7 prof. 64 bit. but am getting the same error.
But I have not run this from the command line I just ran the setup file. No idea about the ini file can you give me the details how to
configure ini and command line parameters required.

    Hi Raja,

What OS are you installing on – 2008 or 2012 ?
What was the command you passed to the MSI – you need to run this from the command line.
Did you configure the ini file correctly, can you attach the logs here?

    Thanks

    Dave
