    Hi,

HDP 2.0 installation fails on 5 node ec2 cluster. The installation fails during finalizing bootstrapping nodes step.

    Below Error:
    ————————-
    Finalizing bootstrapped nodes
    Entry Id : 104
    Final result : FAILED
Progress at the end : : Of 5 nodes, 1 succeeded and 4 failed

    Successful with no errors.

    Steps tried:

    1. re-installing puppet & hmc

    yum -y erase hmc puppet
    yum -y install hmc
    service hmc start

    2. rebooting all nodes

    3. logging into other nodes from main node (i.e. hmc node) — password less ssh works

    Any pointers? Appreciate your help.

    Thanks,
    Mohit.

    Correction:

    3. logging into other nodes from main node (i.e. hmc node)
    — Not working

But i am able login into all nodes using ec2 pem file.

    Hi Mohit,

You need to set it up so that you can ssh to the other nodes without a password or pem file. Hadoop does not have the ability to pass either of these.

    Thanks,
    Ted.
