HDP on Windows – Installation Forum

HDP is not getting installed on windows 2012 server

    I have followed the install guide and prepared the environment. But when i run the msi package, nothing happens. There is nothing installed in my directory.
    Below is a snippet from my log file –
    MSI (c) (A8:2C) [02:09:02:198]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Adding PackagecodeChanging property. Its value is ‘1’.
    MSI (c) (A8:2C) [02:09:02:198]: Package name extracted from package path: ‘hdp-1.1.0-160.winpkg.msi’

    MSI (c) (A8:2C) [02:09:02:198]: Note: 1: 2262 2: Error 3: -2147287038

    my clusterproperties file look like below –
    #Log directory

    #Data directory


    #Database host

    #Hive properties

    #Oozie properties

    Could anybody help me with this?

    Hi Kannan,

    I saw this happen if name resolution does not work correctly. Please make sure that hostnames resolve to correct IPv4 address. Also please make sure that IPv4 is honored over IPv6 and hostname do not translate to IPv6.
