If you hit the same problem, here’s a workaround. Manually create a file at /etc/yum.repos.d/HDP.repo with the following content: [HDP-1.3.0] name=HDP baseurl=http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/HDP/centos6/1.x/GA/18.104.22.168 path=/ enabled=1 gpgcheck=0 (amend the version numbers as necessary) ...

HDP.repo URL is broken
The documentation says:
On each of the newly added slave nodes, add the HDP repository to yum:
wget -nv http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/HDP/repos/centos6/hdp.repo -O /etc/yum.repos.d/hdp.repo
However, there is no such file:
$ wget -nv http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/HDP/repos/centos6/HDP.repo
