Hive-Hbase Error

  • #49082
    Anand M

I have created a hbase table and mapped a hive external table to it.
I can do a successful select * from the hbase table through hive query.

But, when I use a where clause or a join, it fails throwing an error like this.

Job Submission failed with exception ‘java.lang.RuntimeException(Unexpected residual predicate (item_id = ‘ANDY’))’
FAILED: Execution Error, return code 1 from

I am literally clueless. I could not find a solution on the web.

    Am I missing anything here?
