Hive HBase integration

This is not possible to test Hive HBase integration, neither with the sandbox, nor with the alpha 2.
It is related to nasty classpath issue. Indeed hive cannot find the HBase library.

Tried to overwrite export HIVE_AUX_JARS_PATH=/usr/lib/hcatalog/share/hcatalog/hcatalog-core.jar in /etc/hive/conf/ and adding the path to hbase core lib /usr/lib/hbase/hbase.jar

This works, since I can create an external table pointing on an existing HBase table and do a select * on it.
But as soon as I want to make a select * from mytable where prop=’value’, I hit the following exception : File file:/usr/lib/hbase/hbase.jar:/usr/lib/hcatalog/share/hcatalog/hcatalog-core.jar does not exist
    at org.apache.hadoop.fs.RawLocalFileSystem.getFileStatus(

It might be related to this issue

    Hi, Vladislav

I agree with you. From the Hive bug:, it is an improvement for HIVE. I think at this moment, those hbase jar files have to be added to hive classpath manually. Please see the following page and see if it is helpful:
