Hive HWI invoke error

  • #43320

    I have HDP2.0 installed thru Ambari on Rhel 5.8
    I wanted to invoke the web interface for Hive, when I ran the below cmd,
    hive –service hwi
    I get an error,
    13/11/07 17:45:59 FATAL hwi.HWIServer: HWI WAR file not found at /usr/lib/hive/usr/lib/hive/lib/hive-hwi-

    the error is because the war file is in /usr/lib/hive/lib/hive-hwi-
    But for some reason its looking under /usr/lib/hive/usr/lib/hive/lib/hive-hwi-
    appending /usr/lib/hive in front, so its not finding it.
    Where is this defined, I searched hive-site.xml and couldnt find it there.. I need to know where its defined so I can correct it

    Please advice,

    To start hwi, please configure the below thru Ambari:
    1 – Stop Hive
    2 – go to the Hive config tab
    3 – under the advanced area add these three properties:
    * =
    *hive.hwi.listen.port = 9999
    *hive.hwi.war.file = /lib/hive-hwi-
    4 – restart the Hive service
