Hive Showing "No data available' even after successful registration and import

I have a cluster with 1 name node and 2 data nodes. I am following the first tutorial – http://hortonworks.com/hadoop-tutorial/hello-world-an-introduction-to-hadoop-hcatalog-hive-and-pig/. I have uploaded the example data into HDFS and have registered it with HCatalog. I am able to see the table preview with data and the table is successfully created and data is imported. But when I write a Hive query (Select * from nyse_stocks) to retrieve this data it shows “No Data Available”. Even if I use the ‘Browse Data” option I see empty results. Through file browser if I look at HDFS location I can see this data. Any idea why even after a successful registration and import Hive is showing empty results.

Here is the tail end of the log that it produces
