    Hi all,

I am trying to install HDP using HMC on CentOS 6.3 on 5 nodes, and I am getting the following error on 4 of the nodes 5 nodes:
[badHealthReason] => Puppet agent ping failed: , error=111, outputLogs=Puppet agent ping failed: [Connection refused]

    - I have configured FQDN of all nodes in /etc/hosts of each node
    - Linux arch is as follows: Linux namenode 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Jun 22 12:19:21 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    - SELinux and iptables are disabled
    - ntpd is running

    I have 5 nodes: namenode, node1, node2, node3, node4
I am running HMC on the namenode

For namenode: Ping to puppet agent succeeded for host

Please can you help identify the issue.

    THanks

    Jeff,
I suggest you to remove that failed host from your configuration and rerun installation.
There is something wrong with that particular machine configuration.
And you have SELinux enabled on all boxes except hostjeff…
Please, disable it for sure, reboot all the boxes and start installation again.
If still problems with that node, remove it from the picture.

    Dear Sasha:

Did you have any idea ?

“Failed. Reason: Puppet agent ping failed: , error=111, outputLogs=Puppet agent ping failed: ”

I tried and tried and tried again the following suggestion, but it just did not work.

    “yum -y erase hmc puppet
    yum -y install hmv
    service hmc start

    Jeff

I Used Check.sh shellscipt that was provided by HDP forum webiste to analyze this error issue.
    Below is the result, and I also uploaded DMO_Cluster DMO_Cluster DMO_Cluster DMO_Cluster DMO_Cluster.host003.zyxel.com host001.zyxel.com hostjeff.zyxel.com host002.zyxel.com host004.zyxel.com.192.168.1.103 192.168.1.101

    [root@hostjeff ~]# cd /bin
    [root@hostjeff bin]# sh check

I can not see any bad in the data collected, with the exception of having Cloudera repositories registered.
Please, remove Clouders repos from all 5 nodes and do the following:
    1. Make sure that your HMC node can communicate to all other nodes over SSH without typing password.
    2. Make sure you have same SSH key working for all nodes.
    3. On the node where you have hmc installed, run:
    yum -y erase hmc puppet
    yum -y install hmv
    service hmc start

    4. After hmc service started, connect to UI and try to run installation again.
provide your id_rsa file and host list to HMC installer.
HMC node itself MUST BE part of the cluster.

If it still not work, let us have WebEx session some time next week.

    Thank you!

    HI Sasha,

I uploaded it again since there might have been an error in the first time. It is HDPAxeldata.out

Please let me know if there are any issues retrieving it.
