    I am installing Hortonworks on CentOS 6.4

    The Hortonworks installation manual “2.4. Software Requirements” states that I need to install pdsh.

    [root@server1 ~]# yum install pdsh
    Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, security
    Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
    * base:
    * extras:
    * updates:
    Setting up Install Process
    No package pdsh available.
    Error: Nothing to do

    How do I install pdsh?

    Hi David,

    To intall pdsh you need to first install the epel repo. Also it is best if you install the Ambari repo with ‘rpm -Uvh‘ first, then install the epel repo with ‘yum install epel-release’.
