    I am installing Hortonworks on CentOS 6.4

    The Hortonworks installation manual “2.4. Software Requirements” states that I need to install pdsh.

    —–
    [root@server1 ~]# yum install pdsh
    Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, security
    Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
    * base: mirror.5ninesolutions.com
    * extras: mirrors.bluehost.com
    * updates: mirrors.kernel.org
    Setting up Install Process
    No package pdsh available.
    Error: Nothing to do

    Hi David,

    To intall pdsh you need to first install the epel repo. Also it is best if you install the Ambari repo with ‘rpm -Uvh http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/ambari/centos6/1.x/GA/ambari-1.x-1.el6.noarch.rpm‘ first, then install the epel repo with ‘yum install epel-release’.

    Thanks,
    Ted.
