HUE troubleshooting basics

  • #46158

You can see potential configuration issues in HUE if it displays a red circle with ! in the middle next to the ‘About’ tab.

If you wish to view the configuration of HUE you can navigate to http://$hueserver:$hueport/dump_config

The logs for HUE are stored at (default location) /var/log/hue – in this directory you will find logs for all parts of HUE. You can run ls -lrt in this directory to see which logs were updated last. You can then tail these logs when you recreate your issue in HUE to see if you can get more information on the problem.
If you see errors in this log, then attach them to your post and it will help with the troubleshooting process and also help others who experience your issue.
