HDP on Linux – Installation Forum

install could not understand URL

    All when installing HMC I get the following error in the logs

    Running on Centos 5.x just a regular install. I can access the URL from my desktop machine where I am running the installer, but I get access denied.

    where did this URL coming from?
    Are you trying to setup your local repository?
    Please, more details on the performed steps…

    Hi Ben,

    The problem here is that HMC installer does not like the Underscores “_” in the host names.
    Just remove the “_” from your host name “celertech_hbase_dev” and it will work. You can use period “.” instead.

    The error message is not that intuitive.
