Installing Map reduce

    I have tried to start map reduce but every time when I am trying to execute this command “/usr/lib/hadoop/bin/hadoop fs -mkdir /mapred mkdir” , I am getting error ” : failed to create /mapred”. Please help me to solve this issue.

    you should have HDFS running first, then you can create folder /mapred in it and start mapreduce.
