    When I try to install HDP for Windows 1.3 on a Win 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit box, the following error is issued:

    HDP FAILURE: Invalid property ‘TEMPLETON_HOST’ At E:\HadoopInstallFiles\HadoopPackages\hdp-1.3.0.0-winpkg\scripts\install.ps1:

    According to http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP1/HDP-Win-1.3.0/bk_installing_hdp_for_windows/content/win-getting-ready-6.html, Templeton_Host is not a valid parameter. It does not exist in my ClusterProperties.txt file:

    #Log directory
    HDP_LOG_DIR=d:\hadoop\logs

    #Data directory
    HDP_DATA_DIR=d:\hdp\data

    #Hosts

    ZOOKEEPER_HOSTS=xx.xxx.xx.53, xx.xxx.xx.54, xx.xxx.xx.55
    SLAVE_HOSTS=xx.xxx.xx.53, xx.xxx.xx.54, xx.xxx.xx.55

    DB_HOSTNAME=xx.xxx.xx.52

    #Hive properties

    HIVE_DB_PASSWORD=hive

    #Oozie properties
    OOZIE_DB_NAME=oozie
    OOZIE_DB_USERNAME=oozie
    OOZIE_DB_PASSWORD=oozie

    So, how is the error solved?

    Hi David,

    Thanks for letting us know that you resolved your issues.

    WebHCat was formerly known as Templeton, so in HDP 1.3 WEBHCAT_HOST property should be used.

    Thanks,
    Seth

    Solution/Explanation – The first version of the ClusterProperties.txt file actually did contain the invalid Templeton_Host parameter but deleting it from that file was not enough. Also had to delete the HadoopInstallFiles folder.
