Knox + Netflix Genie

  • #52362

We have two Hortonworks clusters in staging while we evaluate it for our needs. We would like to use Knox to secure these clusters as we head towards production.

We have been using Netflix Genie with EMR and are curious how best to integrate Genie with Apache Knox’s security features. Is there any support or documentation for this?

    Hi Joe,

There is no out of box documentation/test/support for Genie REST APIs through Knox. However Knox is architected in an extensible way and potentially can integrate with Genie or such REST APIs.

Knox allows a pluggable model for the pipeline of Authentication, Authorization, Audit, & other filters for every service that it is configured with. You will probably need to write some customer providers to do Genie specific things.
