Logging into virtual machine on a Mac

    Hi Prakash,

Hope that you are having a good day. Once the VM prompts the user for “Log in to this virtual machine”, please click on the VM and press on the following keys at the same time “command+option+f5”? Hope this helps.

I tried to use 3 buttons, “command” + “option” + “F5”. But that didn’t work.

So I tried just “option” + “F5” – that worked.

Now I am trying to find the default user name and password. Any ideas?

    Hi John,

Please see this post for login credentials:

    Hope this helps.

You do not need login in order to use browser based UI.
If you need to log in to the Sandbox itself, username is root, password is hadoop

    I tried both the options:

    Option 1: press keys “command+option+F5″
This open’s Mac OS’s Accessibility options window

    Option 2: press keys “option+F5”

This open’s Mac OS’s Keyboard window

But does not let me login to the VM.
    I am running Mac OS X 10.8.2

Hi! To use the Sandbox you do not need to login. You can connect to the Sandbox VM with a browser. On the Sandbox console it will give you a URL for the Sandbox. It will be something like Just connect to that URL. If you do need to login to the VM the userid/password is root/hadoop.

If you want to login from MAC, cmd key is not real behaviour. you can click “kntrl + alt + fn + f5” combination same time. You will see the login screen.
