Hi .. I am using the following cmd:
    >sqoop import –connect jdbc:sqlserver://localhost –table My_Practice –username sa -P –target-dir /userPavan/table -m 1
Although i didnt give the database name, MyData above, able to import the table successfully to HDFS.

But if i specify the data base as below, error is occurred.
    >sqoop import –connect jdbc:sqlserver://localhost/MyData –table My_Practice –username sa -P –target-dir /userPavan/table -m 1

    Hi Pavan,

    Can you try using:

    sqoop import –connect jdbc:sqlserver://localhost –table MyData.My_Practice –username sa -P –target-dir /userPavan/table -m 1

However I have not had issues using your second query in your post – what is the error which is thrown?

    Thanks

    Dave
