Hortonworks Sandbox Forum

Receive "Page can not be displayed"

  • #14905

I am using windows 7 and VM Player. I am able to boot up the VM instance and get the IP address. When I put that into my browser (I have tried both Chrome & IE) I am able to load the initial hadoop webpage that has links to the videos, Run Tutorials or Use the Sandbox. When I click “start” on either the tutorials or use sandbox I get “page can not be displayed”

first of all, do NOT use IE.
Do you have any firewall configured on your windows box?
Both Tutorials and “Use the Sandbox” attempting to connect to non-default ports on sandbox (8888 and 8000 respectively), so your firewall may have those ports b locked.
    Check your wWindows settings.

    Thank you!
