    @Parfeni
    This is late but
    chmod 644 .ssh/authorized_keys
    chmod 755 .ssh

    will solve your error:
    STDERR
    Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic,password).
    lost connection

    Hi Parfeni,

Then, to answer your question about id_rsa, no you should not need to regenerate it. To help us track down what is possibly going on could you send the complete Ambari-server and Ambari-agent logs to the site in the following post:

    http://hortonworks.com/community/forums/topic/hmc-installation-support-help-us-help-you/

    Thanks,
    Ted.

    Hi Parfeni,

I’m sorry I didn’t catch this earlier, but it looks like your problem may be that you are using the short hostname for the hosts in your cluster, is ‘bigdata1′ what you get when you run the ‘hostname -f’ command on that host? If not then what you need to do is change to using the fully qualified name in the list of hosts while installing.

    Hi Shyamala,

Have you made sure that iptables is turned off on all hosts in your cluster?

    Thanks,
    Ted.

    Hi HDP team,

I am also getting the same error. I am trying to install HDP on a single node using ambari.

Please let me know how can I resolve this issue.

    Thanks,
    Shyamala

I’ve done a ssh to itself, it requested a confirmation and now I can ssh without any problems to bigdata1.
It still fails while the other 3 are sucessful.
Does that mean that I have to re-generate the id_rsa file?

    Hi Parfeni,

Are you able to ssh from bigdata1 to itself without a password? This, as strange as it may seem, is a requirement.

    Thanks,
    Ted.

    Hi Ted,
I tried that, and the bigdata2,3,4 nodes are successful but the main host which is bigdata1 is having some problems with the SSL (probably it’s connecting with itself)
In the /var/log/ambari-agent/ambari-agent.log I have this error at the end of the file :
    SSLError: [Errno 336445442] _ssl.c:353: error:140DC002:SSL routines:SSL_CTX_use_certificate_chain_file:system lib

Do you know what it means?
    Thanks

    Hi Parfeni,

    Try the following steps:
    On the master node
      ambari-server stop
      ambari-agent stop
      yum erase ambari-server
      rm -rf /var/lib/ambari-server
      yum install ambari-server
      yum erase ambari-agent
      rm -rf /var/lib/ambari-agent
    yum install ambari-agent
      ambari-server start
      ambari-agent start
    On each slave node
      ambari-agent stop
      yum erase ambari-agent
      rm -rf /var/lib/ambari-agent
      yum install ambari-agent
      ambari-agent start

    Then try re-running the instal.

    Thanks,
    Ted.

    Hi Parfeni,

What is the output when you ssh from the master node (the computer on which you are running Ambari) to any of the nodes in the cluster?

    Thanks,
    Ted.

    Hi Parfeni,

Do you have passwordless ssh set up on the cluster you are installing on?

    Thanks,
    Ted.
