Sandbox 2.0 Now Available

    I’m delighted to announce the availability of the Sandbox 2.0 at hortonworks.com/sandbox

    In this release you’ll find:

    Sandbox based on HDP 2.0
    Easy enablement of Ambari and Hbase
    Tutorial navigation updates

    We’ve also made bug fixes and tutorial fixes based on this issues you’ve reported here in the Forums. Notably, we’ve updated the HyperV installation instructions and updated the baseball stats dataset to ensure that it works with PigLoader in Tutorial 2.

    Now that we have the new version, please make sure that you INCLUDE THE VERSION number in your requests for help. It’s also important to include:

    Virtualization platform
    Browser and version

    In the new Sandbox, we still recommend a minimum of 4Gb of physical RAM. If you wish to run Ambari or Hbase, we recommend a minimum of 8Gb of physical RAM and that you increase the memory allocation to the virtual machine to at least 4Mb.
