Sandbox Java MR Example?

  • #27830

I want to write and run Java Map/Reduce examples on the Sandbox against my own test file. I have done the word count example but can’t get it to run in the Sandbox. Has anyone produced a cookbook example of running thier own MR against there own file in the Sandbox? I didn’t see anything in the tutorials.

Also, how can I load my own jar into the VM? The Hue interface puts things in HDFS.

    Hi Brian,

To load your own jar to the Sandbox you can scp it from the host computer. You can use the user root and the password hadoop. this will put the jar file in root’s home directory, you will then need to chown the file to hue. so that hue can run it.
