I need a shared externally accessible sandbox

The NAT configuration is counter-productive and a waste of time

    Hi Stephen,

As you and I have been corresponding off line, the configuration that you’re trying to use is not really supported.

    Thanks .

Actually from a functional point of view their is really know noticeable difference.

The web server and hue work the same either way ( it makes absolutely no difference )

The only point of interest is whether I can get a connection with libhdfs to work successfully form an external client with an ip address

Obviosuly dns name resolution will not work because the vm is not configured to have a valid dns host name and dns configuration
