HDP on Windows – Installation Forum

Single node Windows installation fails

  • #29863

I am following the single note windows installation instructions in the link below
    http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP1/HDP-Win-1.1.0/bk_installing_hdp_for_windows/content/win-chap2-singlenode.html

I installed all the prerequisites and configured the environmental variables as per the instructions

When I run the installation command
    msiexec /i “hdp-1.1.0-GA.winpkg.msi” /lv “hdp.log” HDP_LAYOUT=”clusterproperties.txt” HDP_DIR=”C:\hdp\hadoop” DESTROY_DATA=”NO”

I am getting an error ” Installation failed”
    The log reports
    “Note: 1: 2262 2: Error 3: -2147287038 ”

Any idea what this error means?

I figured it out! The Java installation path should not have spaces!!!
I changed it to c:\java and that worked!
