    Hi David,
    Is this a new installation, did it use to start before? What version of HDP and windows are you running HDP on ?

    brand new installation.

    windows 2008 r2

    latest HDP version

    Hi Dave,

    Are you using DNS in your environment? If yes can you please make sure that IPv6 is fully disabled. I seen issues when services try to bing to IPv6 address and fail to start. You can test by pinging FQDN and making sure that it resolves to correct IPv4 address not ::1.

    thanks for the try guys – I was successful with 2012. i think it was the ipv6 stuff but anyways. All good on 2012
