I downloaded the VMWare 2.1 Tech Preview sandbox. I attempted to start the server, but cannot get the servers to run.

    [root@sandbox bin]# ./storm nimbus
Running: java -server -Dstorm.options= -Dstorm.home=/usr/lib/storm -Djava.library.path=/usr/local/lib:/opt/local/lib:/usr/lib [OUTPUT TRUNCATED]
    JMXetricAgent instrumented JVM, see https://github.com/ganglia/jmxetric
    Apr 03, 2014 12:46:57 PM info.ganglia.gmetric4j.GMonitor start
    INFO: Setting up 1 samplers

The screen just hangs there, never returning to a prompt.

If you have not already tried this, I would recommend the following
    1. Enable Ambari
    2. Navigate to Ambari UI and make sure ganglia has started
    3. Once ganglia has started, restart all storm services
